Part of the Australian Orthodontic Pricing Transparency Survey. In a June 2026 page-by-page review of 61 Melbourne specialist orthodontic practices, 9 (14.8%) published a comprehensive treatment price on their own website. About three-quarters published no treatment price at all, listing a price only on enquiry or after a consultation.
Compiled by Cumberland Dental, Cumberland Park, Adelaide. Figures last verified June 2026.
| What the practice published on its own website | Practices | Share of 61 |

| Published only a single weekly payment figure (no total) | 4 | 6.6% |
| Published only a fee range (no single price) | 2 | 3.3% |
| Published no treatment price (price not shown on the practice’s website) | 46 | 75.4% |
| Total specialist orthodontic practices reviewed | 61 | 100% |
Method: a page-by-page review of every Melbourne specialist orthodontic practice’s own website in June 2026, recording whether a comprehensive treatment price was published. Figures describe specialist orthodontic practices only; general dentists who provide braces are counted separately. Where two or more brands were run by the same principal orthodontist, or two locations by a single practice, they were counted once. A practice with no accessible fee page on its website is recorded as publishing no treatment price.
Melbourne’s 14.8% is the highest of the five capital cities reviewed. By comparison, Sydney was 2.5% (2 of 81), Adelaide 3.7% (1 of 27), Brisbane 12.9% (4 of 31), and Perth 13.3% (4 of 30). Across the five cities the share of specialist practices publishing a comprehensive price ranged from 2.5% to 14.8%. This survey reports each metropolitan area separately rather than as a single national figure.
This page is part of a public-interest survey of how orthodontic pricing is presented online across Australian capital cities. Each practice was classified after opening its own live fee or cost page in June 2026, not from a search-result snippet. The survey describes how practices publish information and does not rank or evaluate the practices themselves. See the full survey method and results.
